Have you ever gone back to an old tape or file of a piece you wrote YEARS ago (like say 15 years), put it on, then immediately remember the composition within seconds? What is that? Very few things in life come back that quickly and with that much detail after that period of time.
I mean, you remember where the piece goes, when the key change happens, where the toms come in and how they were panned left (or right or whatever). What else in life do you recall that way?
Can you imagine if you remembered conversations that way? Or events? The level of detail is amazing and is rarely achieved in other aspects of life. (At least for me anyway.)
It doesn't happen 100% of the time; more like 80%. That's still pretty impressive though.
